Notice what would not count as evidence that the prophecy succeeded:
- A separate UFO sighting reported elsewhere.
- An unresolved radar incident years later.

This approach prevents a common bait-and-switch in which a failed forecast is replaced by a broader discussion about whether UFO mysteries still exist. Those mysteries may be interesting and worthy of investigation. They simply do not determine whether a particular prophecy came true.
Why Unresolved Does Not Mean Vindicated
The key mechanism is simple. Failed UFO prophecies often survive by borrowing credibility from unrelated uncertainty. An unresolved sighting can remain genuinely unexplained, and researchers may continue studying it.
